Scale Overview
The Role Justice Scale was developed by Dov Zohar (1995). It is designed to measure Role Justice. The scale is intended for use with Employees.
Scale Structure
This instrument consists of 4 items.
Response Format
Respondents rate each item using a custom response format.
Response anchors: 1 = The affected individual would respond very unfairly, 2 = 2, 3 = 3, 4 = 4, 5 = 5, 6 = 6, 7 = 7, 8 = 8, 9 = The affected individual would respond very fairly.
Scoring
Item scores are averaged to produce a mean score.
Total scores range from 1 to 9. Interpretation guidelines:
- Low perceived role justice: 1 – 3
- Moderate perceived role justice: 4 – 6
- High perceived role justice: 7 – 9
Psychometric Properties
Internal Consistency: The scale has demonstrated good to excellent internal consistency with reported Cronbach’s alpha values of Alpha of .87.
Administration
The scale is self-administered and typically takes approximately 2 minutes to complete. It can be administered individually or in group settings. No special training is required for administration.
