Scale Overview
The Procedural Justice in Performance Appraisal was developed by John H. Dulebohn, Gerald R. Ferris (1999). It is designed to measure Procedural Justice. The scale is intended for use with Employees / working adults.
Scale Structure
This instrument consists of 6 items.
Response Format
Respondents rate each item using a custom response format.
Response anchors: 1 = Strongly disagree / Not at all, 2 = Disagree / Slightly, 3 = Agree / Moderately, 4 = Strongly agree / Very much.
Scoring
Items are summed to produce a total score.
Total scores range from 6 to 24. Interpretation guidelines:
- Low perceived fairness: 6 – 12
- Moderate perceived fairness: 13 – 18
- High perceived fairness: 19 – 24
Psychometric Properties
Internal Consistency: The scale has demonstrated good to excellent internal consistency with reported Cronbach’s alpha values of 0.86.
Administration
The scale is self-administered and typically takes approximately 2 minutes to complete. It can be administered individually or in group settings. No special training is required for administration.
