Scale Overview
The Luxembourg Workplace Mobbing Scale – LWMS was developed by Steffgen, Sischka, & Fernandez de Henestrosa (2019). It is designed to measure Workplace mobbing exposure. The scale is intended for use with General working population.
Scale Structure
This instrument consists of 5 items.
Response Format
Respondents rate each item using a custom response format.
Response anchors: 1 = Never, 2 = Rarely, 3 = Sometimes, 4 = Often, 5 = Almost always.
Scoring
Item scores are averaged to produce a mean score.
Total scores range from 1 to 5. Interpretation guidelines:
- Minimal/No Mobbing: 1 – 2
- Mild Mobbing: 2 – 3
- Moderate Mobbing: 3 – 4
- Severe Mobbing: 4 – 5
Psychometric Properties
Internal Consistency: The scale has demonstrated good to excellent internal consistency with reported Cronbach’s alpha values of Cronbach's alpha = .73.
Administration
The scale is self-administered and typically takes approximately 2 minutes to complete. It can be administered individually or in group settings. No special training is required for administration.
