Scale Overview
The Tampa Scale of Kinesiophobia – TSK was developed by R. Miller, S. Kori, D. Todd (1991). It is designed to measure Kinesiophobia. The scale is intended for use with Chronic pain patients.
Scale Structure
This instrument consists of 17 items organized into 2 factors/subscales: Activity Avoidance, Somatic Focus.
| Factor / Subscale | Items | N |

Response Format
Respondents rate each item using a 4-point Likert scale (1 = Strongly Disagree to 4 = Strongly Agree).
The scale includes 4 reverse-scored items to reduce acquiescence bias.
Scoring
Items are summed to produce a total score.
Total scores range from 17 to 68. Interpretation guidelines:
- Low Kinesiophobia: 17 – 36
- High Kinesiophobia: 37 – 68
Administration
The scale is self-administered and typically takes approximately 5 minutes to complete. It can be administered individually or in group settings. No special training is required for administration.
