The Educational Beliefs Questionnaire (EBQ) was developed by Silvernail, D. L. (1992). It is designed to measure Educational Beliefs. The scale is intended for use with Teachers K-12.
Scale Structure
This instrument consists of 20 items organized into 3 factors/subscales: Perennialism Orientation, Romanticism Orientation, Progressivism.
| Factor / Subscale | Items | N |

Total scores range from 20 to 120. Interpretation guidelines:
- Low Agreement: 20 – 53
- Moderate Agreement: 54 – 87
- High Agreement: 88 – 120
Psychometric Properties
Internal Consistency: The scale has demonstrated good to excellent internal consistency with reported Cronbach’s alpha values of Alpha coefficients: 0.71 (perennialism), 0.72 (romanticism), 0.64 (progressivism), 0.73 (total).
Administration
The scale is self-administered and typically takes approximately 5 minutes to complete. It can be administered individually or in group settings. No special training is required for administration.
