Scale Overview
The Teacher Evaluation Research Survey – TERS was developed by Himmelein, M. E. (2009). It is designed to measure Principals’ attitudes toward teacher evaluation processes. The scale is intended for use with School principals.
Scale Structure
This instrument consists of 30 items organized into 3 factors/subscales: Principal Attitudes – Formal Evaluation, Principal Attitudes – Informal/Formative Evaluation, Perceived Teacher Attitudes – Formal Evaluation.

Respondents rate each item using a custom response format.
Response anchors: 1 = Strongly Against, 2 = Against, 3 = Neutral, 4 = Favor, 5 = Strongly Favor.
Scoring
Items are scored by subscale, with each subscale sum representing a distinct dimension.
Administration
The scale is self-administered and typically takes approximately 10 minutes to complete. It can be administered individually or in group settings. No special training is required for administration.
