Scale Overview
The Objectives of General Education–Modified was developed by Downie, N. M., Pace, C. R., & Troyer, M. E. (1950). It is designed to measure Attitudes toward general education objectives. The scale is intended for use with College students and faculty.
Scale Structure
This instrument consists of 18 items.
Response Format
Respondents rate each item using a custom response format.
Response anchors: 1 = Very important, 2 = Important, 3 = Of some importance, 4 = Of hardly any importance, 5 = Of no importance.
Scoring
Item scores are averaged to produce a mean score.
Administration
The scale is self-administered and typically takes approximately 5 minutes to complete. It can be administered individually or in group settings. No special training is required for administration.
