Response Format
Respondents rate each item using a custom response format.
Response anchors: 1 = 1 in 10 chance of success, 3 = 3 in 10 chance of success, 5 = 5 in 10 chance of success, 7 = 7 in 10 chance of success, 9 = 9 in 10 chance of success, 10 = Should not choose the risky alternative no matter what.
Scoring
Items are summed to produce a total score.
Total scores range from 8 to 80. Interpretation guidelines:
- High Risk Tolerance: 8 – 32
- Moderate Risk Tolerance: 33 – 56
- Low Risk Tolerance: 57 – 80
