Scale Overview
The Acceptance and Commitment Questionnaire in the COVID-19 Pandemic – AAQ-COVID was developed by Buenfil Heredia, Carmen Antonia; Vanega Romero, Sally; Carrillo Trujillo, Carlos David (2024). It is designed to measure COVID-Specific Psychological Inflexibility. The scale is intended for use with Adults.
Scale Structure
This instrument consists of 10 items.
Response Format
Respondents rate each item using a custom response format.
Response anchors: 1 = It doesn't look anything like my experience, 2 = It looks a little like my experience, 3 = It looks moderately like my experience, 4 = It looks a lot like my experience, 5 = It seems almost completely like my experience.
Scoring
Items are summed to produce a total score.
Total scores range from 10 to 50. Interpretation guidelines:
- Total Score (Higher scores indicate greater psychological inflexibility and struggle with pandemic-related experiences): 10 – 50
Administration
The scale is self-administered and typically takes approximately 3 minutes to complete. It can be administered individually or in group settings. No special training is required for administration.
