Scale Overview
The Adverse Childhood Experience Scale for Inuit Youth in Greenland (ACEIG scale) was developed by Charlotte Brandstrup Ottendahl, Ivalu Katajavaara Seidler, Astrid Beck, Peter Bjerregaard, Christina Viskum Lytken Larsen (2024). It is designed to measure Adverse Childhood Experiences. The scale is intended for use with Adolescents (Inuit youth in Greenland).
Scale Structure
This instrument consists of 10 items.
Response Format
Respondents rate each item using a dichotomous Yes/No format.
Scoring
Items are summed to produce a total score.
Total scores range from 0 to 10. Interpretation guidelines:
- No reported ACEs: 0 – 0
- Low to Moderate ACEs: 1 – 3
- High ACEs: 4 – 10

Internal Consistency: The scale has demonstrated good to excellent internal consistency with reported Cronbach’s alpha values of Cronbach's alpha = 0.7.
