Scale Overview
The AIMSS Mobbing Scale (AIMSS M Scale) was developed by Sümer, H. Canan; Göncü-Köse, Aslı; Toker-Gültaş, Yonca; Acar, F. Pınar; Karanfil, Derya; Ok, A. Başak (2024). It is designed to measure Workplace Mistreatment. The scale is intended for use with Working Adults.
Scale Structure
This instrument consists of 18 items.
Response Format
Respondents rate each item using a custom response format.
Response anchors: 1 = Never, 2 = Rarely, 3 = Sometimes, 4 = Often, 5 = Almost every day.
Scoring
Items are summed to produce a total score.
Total scores range from 18 to 90. Interpretation guidelines:
- Low exposure to mobbing: 18 – 35
- Moderate exposure to mobbing: 36 – 53
- High exposure to mobbing: 54 – 71
- Severe exposure to mobbing: 72 – 90
Psychometric Properties
Internal Consistency: The scale has demonstrated good to excellent internal consistency with reported Cronbach’s alpha values of Cronbach's alpha = 0.96.
Administration
The scale is self-administered and typically takes approximately 5 minutes to complete. It can be administered individually or in group settings. No special training is required for administration.
