This instrument consists of 16 items.
Response Format
Respondents rate each item using a custom response format.
Response anchors: 1 = Very unethical, 2 = Moderately unethical, 3 = Slightly unethical, 4 = Neither ethical nor unethical, 5 = Slightly ethical, 6 = Moderately ethical, 7 = Very ethical.
Scoring
Item scores are averaged to produce a mean score.
Total scores range from 1 to 7. Interpretation guidelines:
- Perceived as Unethical: 1 – 3
- Neutral: 4 – 4
- Perceived as Ethical: 5 – 7
Psychometric Properties
Internal Consistency: The scale has demonstrated good to excellent internal consistency with reported Cronbach’s alpha values of Cronbach's alpha .63-.97.
Administration
The scale is self-administered and typically takes approximately 5 minutes to complete. It can be administered individually or in group settings. No special training is required for administration.
