Scale Overview
The COVID-19-Related Worries Measure was developed by Semeraro, C., Giofrè, D., Coppola, G., Verri, V., Bottalico, M., Cassibba, R., & Taurino, A. (2023). It is designed to measure COVID-19-Related Worries. The scale is intended for use with Adults.
Scale Structure
This instrument consists of 6 items.
Response Format
Respondents rate each item using a custom response format.
Response anchors: 1 = Not at all, 2 = A little, 3 = Moderately, 4 = Much, 5 = Very much.
Scoring
Items are summed to produce a total score.
Total scores range from 6 to 30. Interpretation guidelines:
- Low Worry: 6 – 13
- Moderate Worry: 14 – 21
- High Worry: 22 – 30
Psychometric Properties
Internal Consistency: The scale has demonstrated good to excellent internal consistency with reported Cronbach’s alpha values of Cronbach's alpha of 0.81.
Administration
The scale is self-administered and typically takes approximately 3 minutes to complete. It can be administered individually or in group settings. No special training is required for administration.
