Scale Overview
The Cuestionario de Miedo a la Recurrencia del Cáncer – CMRC (Fear of Cancer Recurrence Questionnaire) was developed by del Prado, Celia Ibáñez; Aleksandrovna, Volha Zontava; Cruzado, Juan Antonio; Ospina, Gloria Marquina; Santos, Javier García; Nodal, Inés Rodríguez; del Amo, Mónica Bellón; Fernández, Aránzazu Manzano; Herráez, Antonio Casado (2023). It is designed to measure Fear of Cancer Recurrence. The scale is intended for use with Cancer survivors.
Scale Structure
This instrument consists of 8 items.
Response Format
Respondents rate each item using a custom response format.
Response anchors: 0 = Not at all, 1 = Little, 2 = Moderately, 3 = A lot, 4 = Totally agree.
Scoring
Items are summed to produce a total score.

Internal Consistency: The scale has demonstrated good to excellent internal consistency with reported Cronbach’s alpha values of 0.851.
Administration
The scale is self-administered and typically takes approximately 3 minutes to complete. It can be administered individually or in group settings. No special training is required for administration.
