The Casework Effectiveness Scale – CES-10 was developed by Krishnan, S. R. G., Sharmila, H., Meena, B. P., Potter, A., & S.K., S. (2025). It is designed to measure Casework Effectiveness. The scale is intended for use with Individuals receiving social work casework services.
Scale Structure
This instrument consists of 10 items.
Response Format
Respondents rate each item using a custom response format.
Response anchors: 0 = Strongly disagree, 1 = Disagree, 2 = Neither agree nor disagree, 3 = Agree, 4 = Strongly agree.
Scoring
Items are summed to produce a total score.
Total scores range from 0 to 40. Interpretation guidelines:
- Low effectiveness: 0 – 12
- Moderate effectiveness: 13 – 25
- High effectiveness: 26 – 40
Psychometric Properties
Internal Consistency: The scale has demonstrated good to excellent internal consistency with reported Cronbach’s alpha values of High reliability (validated using EFA, CFA, and bootstrapping).
Administration
