Scale Overview
The Perpetration in Dating Relationships Scale (PDRS) was developed by Foshee, V. A., Linder, F., Bauman, K. E., et al. (1996). It is designed to measure Dating violence perpetration. The scale is intended for use with Adolescents (Grades 8-9).
Scale Structure
This instrument consists of 18 items organized into 2 factors/subscales: Physical Violence, Sexual Violence.

Response Format
Respondents rate each item using a custom response format.
Response anchors: 0 = Never, 1 = 1 to 3 times, 2 = 4 to 9 times, 3 = 10 or more times.
Scoring
Items are summed to produce a total score.
Total scores range from 0 to 54. Interpretation guidelines:
- No reported perpetration: 0 – 0
- Reported perpetration: 1 – 54
Administration
The scale is self-administered and typically takes approximately 5 minutes to complete. It can be administered individually or in group settings. No special training is required for administration.
