Scale Overview
The Anxious Thoughts Inventory – AnTI was developed by Adrian Wells (1997). It is designed to measure Worry and anxious thoughts. The scale is intended for use with Adults.
Scale Structure
This instrument consists of 22 items organized into 3 factors/subscales: Social Worry, Health Worry, Meta-Worry.

Response Format
Respondents rate each item using a custom response format.
Response anchors: 1 = Almost never, 2 = Sometimes, 3 = Often, 4 = Almost always.
Scoring
Items are scored by subscale, with each subscale sum representing a distinct dimension.
Total scores range from 22 to 88. Interpretation guidelines:
- Low Worry: 22 – 43
- Moderate Worry: 44 – 65
- High Worry: 66 – 88
Psychometric Properties
Internal Consistency: The scale has demonstrated good to excellent internal consistency with reported Cronbach’s alpha values of Cronbach's alpha ranges from 0.75 to 0.84 for the subscales.
Administration
The scale is self-administered and typically takes approximately 5 minutes to complete. It can be administered individually or in group settings. No special training is required for administration.
