The Maudsley Obsessional Compulsive Inventory – MOCI was developed by R. J. Hodgson & S. Rachman (1977). It is designed to measure Obsessive-compulsive symptoms. The scale is intended for use with Adults.
Scale Structure
This instrument consists of 30 items organized into 4 factors/subscales: Washing/cleaning compulsions, Checking compulsions, Slowness, Doubting.

Response Format
Respondents rate each item using a dichotomous True/False format.
The scale includes 15 reverse-scored items to reduce acquiescence bias.
Scoring
Items are scored by subscale, with each subscale sum representing a distinct dimension.
Total scores range from 0 to 30. Interpretation guidelines:
- Non-clinical level of obsessive-compulsive symptoms: 0 – 14
- Clinically significant level of obsessive-compulsive symptoms: 15 – 30

Internal Consistency: The scale has demonstrated good to excellent internal consistency with reported Cronbach’s alpha values of Cronbach's alpha ranges from 0.70 to 0.80 for subscales.
Administration
