Scale Overview
The Gender Role Beliefs Scale – GRBS was developed by Kerr, P. S., & Holden, R. R. (1996). It is designed to measure Gender role beliefs. The scale is intended for use with Adults.
Scale Structure
This instrument consists of 20 items.
Response Format
Respondents rate each item using a custom response format.
Response anchors: 1 = Strongly agree, 2 = Moderately agree, 3 = Slightly agree, 4 = Undecided, 5 = Slightly disagree, 6 = Moderately disagree, 7 = Strongly disagree.
The scale includes 6 reverse-scored items to reduce acquiescence bias.
Scoring
Items are summed to produce a total score.
Administration
The scale is self-administered and typically takes approximately 5 minutes to complete. It can be administered individually or in group settings. No special training is required for administration.
