Scale Overview
The Sexual Satisfaction Scale – SSS was developed by The Consortium of Multiple Sclerosis Centers Health Services Research Subcommittee (1997). It is designed to measure Sexual Satisfaction. The scale is intended for use with Adults, particularly individuals with Multiple Sclerosis.
Scale Structure
This instrument consists of 5 items.
Response Format
Respondents rate each item using a custom response format.
Response anchors: 1 = Extremely Satisfied, 2 = Moderately Satisfied, 3 = Slightly Satisfied, 4 = Slightly Dissatisfied, 5 = Moderately Dissatisfied, 6 = Extremely Dissatisfied.
The scale includes 4 reverse-scored items to reduce acquiescence bias.
Scoring
Items are summed to produce a total score.
Total scores range from 4 to 24. Interpretation guidelines:
- Low Satisfaction: 4 – 10
- Moderate Satisfaction: 11 – 17
- High Satisfaction: 18 – 24
Administration
The scale is self-administered and typically takes approximately 2 minutes to complete. It can be administered individually or in group settings. No special training is required for administration.
