Scale Overview
The Work Relationships Scale – WRS was developed by Erin P. Finley, Jacqueline A. Pugh, Holly Jordan Lanham, Luci K. Leykum, John Cornell, Poornachand Veerapaneni, Michael L. Parchman (2013). It is designed to measure Workplace relationship quality. The scale is intended for use with Healthcare clinic staff.
Scale Structure
This instrument consists of 15 items organized into 4 factors/subscales: Cognitive Domain, Affective/Relational Domain, Behavioral Domain, Leadership Domain.

Response Format
Respondents rate each item using a 5-point Likert scale (1 = Strongly Disagree to 5 = Strongly Agree).
Scoring
Item scores are averaged to produce a mean score.
Total scores range from 1 to 5. Interpretation guidelines:
- Low Relationship Quality: 1 – 2
- Moderate Relationship Quality: 2 – 3
- High Relationship Quality: 3 – 5
Psychometric Properties
Internal Consistency: The scale has demonstrated good to excellent internal consistency with reported Cronbach’s alpha values of Cronbach's alpha = 0.95.
Administration
The scale is self-administered and typically takes approximately 5 minutes to complete. It can be administered individually or in group settings. No special training is required for administration.
