Scale Overview
The Perceived Maternal Parenting Self-Efficacy Questionnaire – PMP S-E was developed by Barnes, C. R., & Adamson-Macedo, E. N. (2007). It is designed to measure Perceived Maternal Parenting Self-Efficacy. The scale is intended for use with Mothers (specifically validated with mothers of hospitalized preterm neonates).

This instrument consists of 20 items organized into 4 factors/subscales: Care Procedures, Evoking Behaviors, Reading Cues, Situational Beliefs.

Total scores range from 20 to 80. Interpretation guidelines:
- Low Parenting Self-Efficacy: 20 – 50
- High Parenting Self-Efficacy: 51 – 80

Internal Consistency: The scale has demonstrated good to excellent internal consistency with reported Cronbach’s alpha values of 0.91 – 0.92.
