Scale Overview
The Self-Efficacy Subscale of the Teen Conflict Survey – TCS-SE was developed by Bosworth K., Espelage D. (1995). It is designed to measure Self-efficacy in anger control and conflict resolution. The scale is intended for use with Adolescents.
Scale Structure
This instrument consists of 5 items.
Response Format
Respondents rate each item using a custom response format.
Response anchors: 1 = Not at all confident, 2 = Not very confident, 3 = Unsure, 4 = Somewhat confident, 5 = Very confident.
Scoring
Items are summed to produce a total score.
Total scores range from 5 to 25. Interpretation guidelines:
- Low confidence in nonviolent conflict resolution: 5 – 11
- Moderate confidence in nonviolent conflict resolution: 12 – 18
- High confidence in nonviolent conflict resolution: 19 – 25
Administration
The scale is self-administered and typically takes approximately 2 minutes to complete. It can be administered individually or in group settings. No special training is required for administration.
