Response Format
Respondents rate each item using a 7-point Likert scale (1 = Strongly Disagree to 7 = Strongly Agree).
The scale includes 3 reverse-scored items to reduce acquiescence bias.
Scoring
Item scores are averaged to produce a mean score.
Total scores range from 11 to 77. Interpretation guidelines:
- Low value on self-expression: 11 – 33
- Moderate value on self-expression: 34 – 55
- High value on self-expression: 56 – 77
