Scale Overview
The Unconditional Self-Regard Scale – USRS was developed by Nancy E. Betz, Ellen Wohlgemuth, Donald Serling, Jennifer Harshbarger, & Kelly L. Klein (1995). It is designed to measure Unconditional Self-Regard. The scale is intended for use with Adults.

Response Format
Respondents rate each item using a 5-point Likert scale (1 = Strongly Disagree to 5 = Strongly Agree).
The scale includes 7 reverse-scored items to reduce acquiescence bias.
Scoring
Items are scored by subscale, with each subscale sum representing a distinct dimension.
Total scores range from 15 to 75. Interpretation guidelines:
- Low Unconditional Self-Regard: 15 – 35
- Moderate Unconditional Self-Regard: 36 – 55
- High Unconditional Self-Regard: 56 – 75
Administration
The scale is self-administered and typically takes approximately 5 minutes to complete. It can be administered individually or in group settings. No special training is required for administration.
