The Barron’s Ego-Strength Scale – Es was developed by Frank Barron (1953). It is designed to measure Ego-Strength. The scale is intended for use with Adults.

Response Format
Respondents rate each item using a dichotomous True/False format.
The scale includes 42 reverse-scored items to reduce acquiescence bias.
Scoring
Items are summed to produce a total score.
Total scores range from 0 to 66. Interpretation guidelines:
- Low Ego-Strength: 0 – 32
- Moderate Ego-Strength: 33 – 49
- High Ego-Strength: 50 – 66
