Scale Overview
The Spiritual Health Locus of Control Scale – SHLOC (Revised) was developed by Cheryl L. Holt (2007). It is designed to measure Spiritual Health Locus of Control. The scale is intended for use with Adults.

This instrument consists of 13 items organized into 2 factors/subscales: Active Spiritual, Passive Spiritual.

Response Format
Respondents rate each item using a 5-point Likert scale (1 = Strongly Disagree to 5 = Strongly Agree).
Scoring
Items are scored by subscale, with each subscale sum representing a distinct dimension.
Total scores range from 13 to 65. Interpretation guidelines:
- Low Spiritual Locus of Control: 13 – 30
- Moderate Spiritual Locus of Control: 31 – 48
- High Spiritual Locus of Control: 49 – 65
Administration
The scale is self-administered and typically takes approximately 5 minutes to complete. It can be administered individually or in group settings. No special training is required for administration.
