Scale Overview
The Family, Friend, and Self Form – FFS was developed by D. Dwayne Simpson & A. A. McBride (1992). It is designed to measure Family dynamics, peer relationships, self-esteem, and environmental satisfaction. The scale is intended for use with Adolescents / Youth.
Scale Structure
This instrument consists of 60 items organized into 10 factors/subscales: Family warmth, Family control, Family conflict, Peer activity, Trouble, Familiarity with Parents, Conventional Involvement, Self-esteem, Environment, School Satisfaction.

Response Format
Respondents rate each item using a custom response format.
Response anchors: Part A: 0 = Never, Part A: 1 = Rarely, Part A: 2 = Sometimes, Part A: 3 = Often, Part A: 4 = Almost always, Part B: 0 = None, Part B: 1 = A few, Part B: 2 = Some, Part B: 3 = Most, Part B: 4 = All, Part C: 0 = Very unhappy, Part C: 1 = Mostly unhappy, Part C: 2 = Neither happy nor unhappy, Part C: 3 = Mostly happy, Part C: 4 = Very happy.
The scale includes 4 reverse-scored items to reduce acquiescence bias.
Scoring
Items are scored by subscale, with each subscale sum representing a distinct dimension.

Administration
The scale is self-administered and typically takes approximately 15 minutes to complete. It can be administered individually or in group settings. No special training is required for administration.
