The Prosocial Parental Involvement Scale – Seattle Social Development Project was developed by Arthur M. W., Hawkins J. D., Pollard J. A., Catalano R. F., & Baglioni A. J. (2002). It is designed to measure Prosocial parental involvement. The scale is intended for use with Adolescents.

This instrument consists of 7 items organized into 2 factors/subscales: Opportunities for Prosocial Involvement, Rewards for Prosocial Involvement.

Response Format
Respondents rate each item using a custom response format.

Scoring
Items are summed to produce a total score.
Total scores range from 7 to 28. Interpretation guidelines:
- Low Parental Involvement: 7 – 14
- Moderate Parental Involvement: 15 – 21
- High Parental Involvement: 22 – 28
Administration
The scale is self-administered and typically takes approximately 3 minutes to complete. It can be administered individually or in group settings. No special training is required for administration.
