Scale Overview
The Realizations of Filial Responsibility – RFR (Expectations Scale) was developed by Wayne C. Seelbach (1977). It is designed to measure Filial Responsibility Expectations. The scale is intended for use with Aged parents.
Scale Structure
This instrument consists of 6 items.
Response Format
Respondents rate each item using a custom response format.
Response anchors: 1 = Strongly Disagree, 2 = Disagree, 3 = Somewhat Disagree, 4 = Somewhat Agree, 5 = Agree, 6 = Strongly Agree.
Scoring
Items are summed to produce a total score.
Total scores range from 6 to 36. Interpretation guidelines:
- Low Expectations: 6 – 17
- Moderate Expectations: 18 – 29
- High Expectations: 30 – 36

Administration
