The Children’s Coping Questionnaire – CCQ was developed by Fedorowicz, A. E. (1995). It is designed to measure Coping strategies in children. The scale is intended for use with Children and adolescents.

This instrument consists of 81 items organized into 14 factors/subscales: Cognitive Decision Making, Direct Problem Solving, Positive Cognitive Restructuring, Self-Calming, Support Seeking, Wishful Thinking, Avoidant Actions, Cognitive Avoidance, Distracting Actions, NO Coping Effort, Withholding Feelings, Aggressive Actions, Expressing Feelings, Negative Cognitions/Worrying.

Response anchors: 1 = Never, 2 = A little, 3 = Pretty much, 4 = A lot.
Scoring
Items are scored by subscale, with each subscale sum representing a distinct dimension.
Total scores range from 1 to 4. Interpretation guidelines:
- Low Use: 1 – 2
- Moderate Use: 2 – 3
- High Use: 3 – 4
Psychometric Properties
Internal Consistency: The scale has demonstrated good to excellent internal consistency with reported Cronbach’s alpha values of Cronbach's alpha ranges from .56 to .85 for subscales.
Administration
The scale is self-administered and typically takes approximately 15 minutes to complete. It can be administered individually or in group settings. No special training is required for administration.
