Scale Overview
The Health Promoting Lifestyle Profile II (HPLPII) was developed by Susan Noble Walker, Karen R. Sechrist, Nola J. Pender (1996). It is designed to measure Health-promoting lifestyle behaviors. The scale is intended for use with Adults.
Scale Structure
This instrument consists of 52 items organized into 6 factors/subscales: Health Responsibility, Physical Activity, Nutrition, Spiritual Growth, Interpersonal Relations, Stress Management.

- Low Health-Promoting Lifestyle: 52 – 104
- Moderate Health-Promoting Lifestyle: 105 – 156
- High Health-Promoting Lifestyle: 157 – 208
Administration
The scale is self-administered and typically takes approximately 15 minutes to complete. It can be administered individually or in group settings. No special training is required for administration.
