The Portrait Values Questionnaire – PVQ was developed by Shalom H. Schwartz (2001). It is designed to measure Basic Human Values. The scale is intended for use with Adults and adolescents.

This instrument consists of 40 items organized into 10 factors/subscales: Conformity, Tradition, Benevolence, Universalism, Self-Direction, Stimulation, Hedonism, Achievement, Power, Security.

Response Format
Respondents rate each item using a custom response format.
Response anchors: 1 = Not at All Like Me, 2 = Not Like Me, 3 = A Little Like Me, 4 = Somewhat Like Me, 5 = Like Me, 6 = Very Much Like Me.
Scoring
Items are scored by subscale, with each subscale sum representing a distinct dimension.
Psychometric Properties

Administration
