Scale Overview
The Valued Living Questionnaire Version 2 – VLQ-2 was developed by Kelly G. Wilson, Emily K. Sandoz, Jennifer Kitchens, & Miguel E. Roberts (2010). It is designed to measure Valued living and valued action consistency. The scale is intended for use with Adults.
Scale Structure
This instrument consists of 72 items organized into 6 factors/subscales: Possibility, Current Importance, Overall Importance, Action, Satisfied with Level of Action, Concern.

Response Format
Respondents rate each item using a custom response format.
Response anchors: 1 = 1 – Not at all, 2 = 2, 3 = 3, 4 = 4, 5 = 5, 6 = 6, 7 = 7, 8 = 8, 9 = 9, 10 = 10 – Very / Completely.
Scoring
Items are scored by subscale, with each subscale sum representing a distinct dimension.
Total scores range from 12 to 120. Interpretation guidelines:
- Low: 12 – 48
- Moderate: 49 – 84
- High: 85 – 120
Administration
The scale is self-administered and typically takes approximately 10 minutes to complete. It can be administered individually or in group settings. No special training is required for administration.
