The Wisconsin Quality of Life Client Questionnaire – WQLI was developed by Marion A. Becker, Bret R. Shaw, Lisa M. Reib (1996). It is designed to measure Quality of Life. The scale is intended for use with Mental health clients.

Response Format
Respondents rate each item using a custom response format.
Response anchors: 1 = Very dissatisfied, 2 = Moderately dissatisfied, 3 = A little dissatisfied, 4 = Neither satisfied or dissatisfied, 5 = A little satisfied, 6 = Moderately satisfied, 7 = Very satisfied.
Scoring
Items are scored by subscale, with each subscale sum representing a distinct dimension.
Total scores range from 14 to 98. Interpretation guidelines:
- Low Satisfaction: 14 – 42
- Moderate Satisfaction: 43 – 70
- High Satisfaction: 71 – 98
Psychometric Properties
Internal Consistency: The scale has demonstrated good to excellent internal consistency with reported Cronbach’s alpha values of Life Satisfaction alpha: .8250, Social Relations alpha: .7585.
Administration
The scale is self-administered and typically takes approximately 5 minutes to complete. It can be administered individually or in group settings. No special training is required for administration.
