Scale Overview
The Kiddie Machiavellianism Test – Kiddie Mach was developed by Richard Christie, Florence L. Geis (1969). It is designed to measure Machiavellianism. The scale is intended for use with Children and adolescents.
Scale Structure
This instrument consists of 20 items.
Response Format
Respondents rate each item using a custom response format.
Response anchors: 1 = Disagree very much, 2 = Disagree a little, 4 = Agree a little, 5 = Agree very much.
The scale includes 10 reverse-scored items to reduce acquiescence bias.
Scoring
Items are summed to produce a total score.
Total scores range from 20 to 100. Interpretation guidelines:
- Low Machiavellianism: 20 – 49
- Moderate Machiavellianism: 50 – 79
- High Machiavellianism: 80 – 100

Administration
