Scale Overview
The Prosocial Self-Regulation Questionnaire – SRQ-P was developed by Richard M. Ryan & James P. Connell (1989). It is designed to measure Prosocial Self-Regulation. The scale is intended for use with Children in late elementary and middle school.
Scale Structure
This instrument consists of 25 items organized into 3 factors/subscales: External Regulation, Introjected Regulation, Identified Regulation.

Scoring
Items are scored by subscale, with each subscale sum representing a distinct dimension.
Total scores range from 25 to 100. Interpretation guidelines:
- Low overall endorsement of prosocial regulation: 25 – 50
- Moderate overall endorsement of prosocial regulation: 51 – 75
- High overall endorsement of prosocial regulation: 76 – 100
Administration
The scale is self-administered and typically takes approximately 10 minutes to complete. It can be administered individually or in group settings. No special training is required for administration.
