The Adult ADHD Self-Report Scale – ASRS v1.1 was developed by Kessler, R. C., Adler, L., Ames, M., Demler, O., Faraone, S., Hiripi, E. V. A., & Ustun, T. B. (2005). It is designed to measure Adult ADHD. The scale is intended for use with Adults (18+).
Scale Structure
This instrument consists of 18 items organized into 2 factors/subscales: Inattention, Hyperactivity-Impulsivity.

Response Format
Respondents rate each item using a 5-point frequency scale (1 = Never to 5 = Always).

Items are scored by subscale, with each subscale sum representing a distinct dimension.
Total scores range from 0 to 18. Interpretation guidelines:
- Low likelihood of ADHD: 0 – 8
- High likelihood of ADHD (Further clinical evaluation warranted): 9 – 18

Internal Consistency: The scale has demonstrated good to excellent internal consistency with reported Cronbach’s alpha values of 0.84.
Administration
The scale is self-administered and typically takes approximately 5 minutes to complete. It can be administered individually or in group settings. No special training is required for administration.
