Scale Overview
The Florida Obsessive-Compulsive Inventory – FOCI was developed by Eric A. Storch, D. A. S. Kaufman, D. Bagner, L. J. Merlo, N. A. Shapira, G. R. Geffken, T. K. Murphy, & W. K. Goodman (2007). It is designed to measure Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) Symptoms. The scale is intended for use with Adults.
Scale Structure
This instrument consists of 20 items organized into 2 factors/subscales: Obsessions, Compulsions.

Response Format
Respondents rate each item using a dichotomous Yes/No format.
Scoring
Items are summed to produce a total score.
Total scores range from 0 to 20. Interpretation guidelines:
- Minimal OCD traits: 0 – 7
- Possible OCD traits: 8 – 20
Psychometric Properties
Internal Consistency: The scale has demonstrated good to excellent internal consistency with reported Cronbach’s alpha values of 0.89.
Administration
The scale is self-administered and typically takes approximately 5 minutes to complete. It can be administered individually or in group settings. No special training is required for administration.
