Isophilia

Isophilia refers to feelings of a platonic same-gender affection, that is to say a deep friendship (perhaps even love) without a genital or sexual component to that relationship. In our time now, which is more morally relaxed than some other times in the past, we don’t readily think in terms of this type of relationship. Unfortunately, modern people often read the possibility of homoeroticism into what are actually platonic same-sex friendships.
