Abstract
The Date Rape Attitudes, Rape Myths, and Experiences With Sexual Violence–Model (Boateng et al., 2023) was developed for a study exploring the intricate connections between date rape attitudes, rape myths, and sexual violence, utilizing data from Ivory Coast. The proposed items were adapted from previous research, including works by Lanier & Elliot (1997) and Lonsway & Fitzgerald (1994). This resulting 16-item measure was administered to a sample of college students in a major city in Ivory Coast. The study reported findings regarding the factor structure and reliability of the instrument.

Purpose
The primary purpose of this measurement model is to assess the influence of sexual violence victimization on students’ perceptions of rape and their attitudes towards date rape.
Validity
No data is Available.
Reliability
Internal consistency, as measured by Cronbach’s alpha, was reported as 0.73 for both the College date rape attitudes and Rape myth constructs. For the Sexual harassment and Sexual assault constructs, Cronbach’s alpha values were 0.74 and 0.67, respectively.
Factor Analysis
Factor analysis indicated that the cumulative total variance explained was 56% for both the College date rape attitudes and Rape myths constructs. The construct of Sexual violence revealed two subscales: sexual harassment and sexual assault. These subscales had cumulative total variances explained of 51% and 61%, respectively.

Items of the Date Rape Attitudes, Rape Myths, and Experiences With Sexual Violence–Model
This is a 16-item measure. The constructs include: College date rape attitudes; Rape myths; Sexual violence (Sexual harassment; Sexual assault). The test items are available, as indicated by the source.
College date rape attitudes
If a woman asks a man out on a date, then she is interested in having sex.
Women provoke rape by their behavior.
When a woman asks her date back to her place, I expect that something sexual will take place.
If a woman dresses in a sexy dress she is asking for sex.
Note. Items are rated using a 5-point scale ranging from 1 = strongly agree to 5 = strongly disagree.
Rape myths
It is usually only women who dress suggestively that are raped.
Women tend to exaggerate how much rape affects them.
When women are raped, it’s often because the way they said “no” was ambiguous.
A woman who dresses in skimpy clothes should not be surprised if a man tries to force her to have sex.
Note. Items are rated using a 7-point from 1 (not at all agree) to 7 (very much agree).
