WADA TEST

a presurgical and diagnostic method for deciding hemispheric operations, commonly memory and linguistics, by injecting a minor dosage of a barbiturate into an interior carotid artery. While each hemisphere is independently anesthetized, many mental jobs are delivered; disabilities on these jobs suggest that these operations are presented within the anesthetized hemisphere. This is commonly utilized before temporal lobectomy in serious epilepsy. Commonly referred to as intracarotid amobarbital procedure.

WADA TEST: “Most epilepsy patients are given the WADA test before surgery. “
