CASE GRAMMAR

n. in linguistics, refers to sentence construction and analysis which gives primary consideration to semantics rather than to syntax. In other words, there is primacy on who the agent or intiator of the action was, over what the subject or the object of the sentence was. This is of great interest to psychologists in terms of meaning and behavior.

CASE GRAMMAR: “When it comes to case grammar, psychologists are particularly attentive to whether the patient/client was the agent or the object of the action.”
