ACCOMMODATIVE SPASM

malfunctioning on the part of ocular muscles to repose following convergence on an object within close proximity. The reaction to this is often a condition called transient myopia, where damage to the parasympathetic nervous system occurs and causes ocular obscurity for an extended period of time.

ACCOMMODATIVE SPASM: “Persons with transient myopia commonly experience accommodative spasms of the eye muscles.”
