UNILATERAL LESION

a lesion on one lobe or side of an organ or body part. A unilateral cerebral lesion consists of one cerebral hemisphere, right or left, with impacts which might vary in accordance with the dominance of the hemisphere and the operation impacted. The motor and sensory impacts of the lesion are usually on the contralateral side, which is, on the side converse to that of the lesion.
