Trauma Systems Therapy (TST)

Trauma systems Therapy (TST) refers to a mental health treatment model for treating the trauma caused by experiencing, witnessing or confronting a serious injury, an actual or threatened death, or a threat to the physical integrity of self or others in children and adolescents. This type of comprehensive treatment focuses on the child’s environments (home, school, community) as well as their emotional and behavioral needs. In addition to treating the victim, TST also educates the victim’ significant others to help them recover and control their emotions during stressful events in the future.
