Transvestic Fetishism

Transvestic Fetishism is a formal psychiatric diagnosis that is found in the DSM-IV that is applied to individuals who seem to have an excessive, and “autoerotic” or sexually stimulating, interest in cross-dressing, using articles of clothing from the opposite gender as “fetishes” to achieve sexual arousal. Normally, this diagnosis is applied only when this activity creates distress for the client.
