TRANSITIVE INFERENCE TASK

a type of task utilized to evaluate kids’ capacity to make transitive inferences, which is, to infer the union between two ideas or items based upon formatively acquired data. With regard to one instance, a sequence of sticks is positioned in escalating length; if kids know that 1 > C and C > B, they will make an accurate transitive inference if they state that D > B, although they have never observed these two sticks together.

TRANSITIVE INFERENCE TASK: “The children will be required to complete several sets of transitive inference tasks.”
