THYROID-STIMULATING HORMONE (TSH)

a hormone generated by the anterior pituitary gland which elicits generation and dispersion of thyroxine and triiodothyronin. Its excretion is managed by thyrotropin-releasing hormone from the hypothalamus. It is utilized within the differential diagnosis of thyroid gland disorders.
