THIOXANTHENES

noun. a set of antipsychotic drugs, usually of intermediate potency, which are similar to the phenothiazines in pharmacological activity and molecular anatomy. Thioxanthenes are utilized mainly within the remediation of psychotic disorders. Their utilization has been replaced in majority by newer antipsychotics.
